C1454 Thunder Mountain

2At that moment, he watched as the Flying Ship transformed into a streak of light, soaring ahead. It was a High-grade Emperor Level Flying Ship, pushed to its limits. Shi Leshan had made up his mind. Upon returning to the sect, he would seek guidance from Yang Mao and swiftly persuade his senior brothers and the Sect Seniors. His resolve was not just for his own sake, but for the welfare of the entire sect.

Nevertheless, he harbored some concerns. He feared the volatile tempers of his senior brother and the Sect Seniors, especially since Lin Xuan was growing impatient. Should a conflict erupt between them, the fallout would be catastrophic. The Devil Cloud Sect, once the most dominant force on the Dongyuan Continent, had been annihilated by Lin Xuan. Not a soul had escaped; the sect's stronghold was reduced to rubble. Even the Thunder Yang Pavilion, within Leiyun State, couldn't claim superiority over the Devil Cloud Sect. What good were trump cards against such a vast disparity in power? They were nothing but a delusion. The entire Sect Seniors could easily be erased by Lin Xuan's hand in the worst-case scenario.

Casting a glance at Lin Xuan, who was at the forefront, expertly piloting the Emperor Level Flying Ship at breakneck speed, Shi Leshan's expression grew pensive. Then, he discreetly communicated with several peak Emperor Level experts at his side. Should his senior brothers and the Sect Seniors attempt to thwart Lin Xuan's actions, they would unite and intercept the Sect Seniors. The caliber and quantity of Emperor Level experts here far surpassed those of the Thunder Yang Pavilion. Even with their local advantage and the boost from their Lightning attributes, resistance seemed futile. Only through such an alliance could their survival be secured.

Though collaborating with outsiders against the Sect Seniors might seem dishonorable, such measures paled in comparison to the threat of the sect's extinction. He could always apologize to his senior brothers and the others afterward, to avoid living with regret. If he waited until tragedy struck, it would be too late for remorse.

Elemental Spirit, Wei Zhengzhen, Yang Mao, and the others wore looks of surprise. Their eyes were filled with curiosity as they regarded Shi Leshan.

It was surprising to see Shi Lezian, who was typically seen as rough and quick-tempered, harboring such reflective thoughts. His actions had completely shifted their perception of the martial cultivators from the Thunder Yang Pavilion. Yet, they could understand why. Under the oppressive might of Lin Xuan's enigmatic and fearsome power, and with the Devil Cloud Sect and East Saint Sect serving as cautionary tales, such a transformation was inevitable. While unexpected, it was not beyond the realm of acceptance. However, the rapidity with which Shi Lezian made and implemented his decision was astonishing. This level of resolve was something they had not anticipated.

For the Sect Seniors still within the sect, Shi Lezian's choice was tantamount to defection. Achieving such a state of mind was not something easily accomplished by the average person. Shi Lezian had certainly earned a newfound respect from them. It's true that in the face of mortal danger, the mind operates with unparalleled speed. They all shared a rueful smile at the thought.

Who would have imagined that those who stood at the pinnacle of the continent, effectively controlling it, would be subjected to such circumstances? Empathizing with Shi Lezian's plight, they readily agreed to his request. Not only would they receive compensation, but they also saw an opportunity to give the Thunder Yang Pavilion's leadership a well-deserved thrashing. The martial cultivators from the Thunder Yang Pavilion were notorious for their volatile tempers, often engaging in conflict over trivial matters. Despite the lack of deep-seated feuds among the four sects, tensions had accumulated over time. This was the perfect chance for a bit of payback, though they had no intention of being lethal.

With Lin Xuan's arrival and the unification of the Dongyuan Continent, they would all become fellow sect members, expected to support and assist one another. It was essential to avoid any irreparable rifts.

Meanwhile, Shi Lezian's mind was racing. In addition to seeking assistance from the Emperor Level Martial Cultivators present, he conveyed everything he knew and suspected through the sound transmitting talisman. The responses he received, however, cast a shadow over his expression. The sect's higher-ups were stubborn to a fault. Indeed, if he had not witnessed it with his own eyes, he too would have struggled to believe it.

Lin Xuan's emergence disrupted the entire structure of the Dongyuan Continent and upended the beliefs held by the Sect Seniors for centuries.

At this point, there was no choice but to play it by ear and hope they weren't too late.

Shi Lesan sighed inwardly.

Under Lin Xuan's command, the High-grade Emperor Level Flying Ship achieved speeds like never before.

Soon, they reached the Thunder Yang Pavilion, the true ruler of Leiyun State.

The area around the Thunder Yang Pavilion boasted the richest Spiritual Qi in all of Leiyun State.

Yet, unlike the Elemental Spirit Sect, East Saint Sect, and Purple Tripod Sect, with their idyllic scenes of drifting clouds, elegant pavilions, and soaring cranes, the Thunder Yang Pavilion presented a starkly different landscape.

Instead of sprawling across a vast mountain range, it was situated on a flat plain.

Above it, thick, oppressive black clouds loomed, threatening to crush the sky, with continuous rumbling and flashes of massive lightning bolts resembling pythons and serpents.

This place hardly resembled the home of one of the top six powers of the Dongyuan Continent; it was more akin to a forbidden land.

Were it not for the protective purple barrier shielding the sect's buildings below, one might fear the constant threat of devastating lightning strikes that could obliterate the entire sect.

The oppressive atmosphere made it clear why the martial cultivators of the Thunder Yang Pavilion were known for their volatile tempers.

Living in such conditions, it was no surprise that psychological issues were commonplace.

Wei Zhengzhen, Elemental Spirit, Yang Mao, and other Emperor Level Martial Cultivators, as some of the continent's most esteemed warriors, had visited this place on numerous occasions.

Yet, each return visit left them feeling uneasy, as the ambiance was far from welcoming.

They would avoid coming here unless absolutely necessary, with the exception of those who specialized in the Lightning attribute.

Only in this way could they thrive here, as effortlessly as a fish swims in water.

Take Shi Le'an and his fellow members of the Thunder Yang Pavilion, for instance; they all exuded a sense of ease.

Their personal auras had significantly intensified as well.

The towering mountain of lightning, rising over ten thousand feet, stood at the rear of the Thunder Yang Pavilion's territory.

The Pavilion's protective grand array did not extend to cover this mountain of lightning.

Its colossal size and the overwhelming, explosive energy it radiated were too much for the Thunder Yang Pavilion to contain within their grand array.

Perhaps only an array of Emperor Level could manage such a feat.

Yet, if they were capable of deploying an Emperor Level array, the mountain's significance might diminish.

To envelop and protect it might result in a loss rather than a benefit.

The entire mountain of lightning glowed with an intense brilliance.

At its core was a radiant white light, encircled by green and purple flashes of lightning.

The sheer terror of its power, enough to instill fear in the hearts of those who felt it, emanated from within.

The mountain's original form was indiscernible, seemingly composed entirely of the raw energy of lightning.
