C1380 Attempting

1From what it seemed, this was indeed the only plausible explanation. The Formation Masters were utterly astounded. Could it be that Lin Xuan's prowess extended far beyond their imagination, not only in martial arts but also in the art of Spell Formation?

Yet, there were those who steadfastly refused to believe it. That he could use a mere wisp of spirit energy to mend an Emperor Level High-grade Spell Formation and inscribe Emperor Level Formation Marks was inconceivable. If true, his mastery of Spell Formation would be so advanced that he was nearly at the Emperor Level. It seemed too fantastical to be real.

But they could not come up with a reasonable explanation. They had no choice but to chalk it up to an unknown phenomenon.

After leaving the core of the formation, Lin Xuan visited each formation node to inspect it. At each node, he left behind a wisp of spirit energy to be used in inscribing Formation Marks. These nodes were far simpler to deal with than the core, making the task trivial for Lin Xuan.

He intended to establish the Elemental Spirit Sect's territory as his stronghold on the Dongyuan Continent. Utilizing the existing infrastructure was far more convenient than starting from scratch. To Lin Xuan, the sect's protective grand array was trivial, easily shattered with a single blow. Yet, on the Dongyuan Continent, it was considered one of the finest defenses. Only a Half-level Emperor or a group of peak Emperor Level warriors could pose a threat to it.

Lin Xuan's goal was not to attack but to defend and ensure his own safety.

Beyond the core and nodes of the formation, a vast network of basic Formation Marks spanned the Elemental Spirit Sect's outer regions. While not particularly complex, these marks couldn't be drawn in haste. Fortunately, the damage was minimal. Once the core and nodes were restored, they could autonomously reconnect based on their interrelations. This process was a significant test of a Formation Master's divine sense and their proficiency with formations—a feat beyond the reach of most.

For Lin Xuan, however, it was effortless. He had previously restored a complete Emperor Level Grand Array with ease.

In under an hour, Lin Xuan had thoroughly explored the sect's protective Spell Formation, the core of the formation, and its various Formation Marks.

Subsequently, he made his way to the Elemental Spirit Sect's grand library.

The Elemental Spirit Sect's library is the most prestigious repository within the sect, housing the most central and valuable texts of the entire Elemental Spirit Sect.

He had accessed it previously.

After emerging from the Blood Secret Realm, Lin Xuan had earned the privilege of entering the Elemental Spirit Sect's library by surrendering numerous treasures.

At that time, he sought to confirm details about the Blood Demon, perusing various unofficial histories and secret accounts.

However, access to the Pill Dao, Weapon Dao, martial arts secret manuals, and other teachings integral to the sect's legacy required significant contributions, which he lacked the credentials for then.

But now, with the entire Elemental Spirit Sect under his dominion, such limitations were obsolete.

Lin Xuan's visit was driven by a desire to assess the richness of the Elemental Spirit Sect's collection, one of the six major powers on the Dongyuan Continent, and to determine if it held the resources he sought.

Upon his arrival, no one dared to impede him, allowing Lin Xuan to peruse freely.

Time slipped by silently.

After more than an hour, Lin Xuan emerged from the library, shaking his head slightly in contemplation.

Indeed, as the heart of the Elemental Spirit Sect, the library's extensive range and volume of texts were remarkable.

For the majority of Emperor Level Martial Cultivators, it represented a treasure trove of knowledge.

Yet, for Lin Xuan, it fell short of expectations.

The most valuable texts were a few significantly incomplete Emperor Level secret manuals pertaining to the Martial Dao.

The highest teachings in the Pill Dao, Array Dao, and Talisman Dao reached only the pinnacle of the Emperor Level.

Nevertheless, Lin Xuan did find some merit in the information regarding the continent's mysteries, historical events, and relics.

Afterward, Lin Xuan visited various key locations within the sect, addressing past oversights and resolving lingering questions.

Ultimately, Lin Xuan returned to the place within the Elemental Spirit Sect he knew best—the mountain peak home to the Zhenwu Branch.

Zhenwu Peak, towering as one of the Elemental Spirit Sect's most significant mountains in the Central Region, held great importance. When the Zhenwu Branch was branded as traitors, the branch was left temporarily vacant. It was a place rich with spiritual energy, too valuable to be simply discarded. However, before it could be reassigned, war erupted across the Dongyuan Continent, capturing the focus and energies of all martial cultivators, and the peak was neglected. The intention was to address it when there was a lull in the chaos.

The return of Lin Xuan disrupted this status quo. His unmatched combat prowess swiftly subdued the entire Elemental Spirit Sect. As a member of the Zhenwu Branch, Lin Xuan's presence meant that no one else dared to lay claim to Zhenwu Peak. Now, the peak stood deserted and silent. Surveying the once-familiar landscape, devoid of life, a wistful look crossed Lin Xuan's eyes. After a moment of reflection, he wandered the mountaintop.

Eventually, Lin Xuan settled into a meditative pose at the cliff's edge in the mountain's plaza. From this vantage point, he could survey nearly all the territories of the Elemental Spirit Sect, dwarfing the surrounding mountains. Yet Lin Xuan had no desire to gaze upon the view. His expression grew solemn, and with a mere thought, a black longsword materialized before him.

"Terminator Sword, it's been too long," Lin Xuan murmured to himself. This black longsword, the Terminator Sword, had been his faithful companion for many years on the Dongyuan Continent, always at his side as his chosen Spirit weapon. Upon reaching the Central Essence Continent, the sword had become insufficient. Lin Xuan had come to rely more on his Emperor Level physique, his most formidable asset.

To capitalize on this strength, especially for the martial contest at Jade Dragon Mountain, Lin Xuan crafted the Emperor Level Spirit weapons: the Heavenly Nebula Shattering Bow and Meteorite Arrow. These allowed him to execute his most powerful strikes. Consequently, the Terminator Sword was set aside, its Emperor Level status no longer meeting Lin Xuan's needs.

However, Lin Xuan was not about to give up.

The Terminator Sword, with its enigmatic origins, was a treasure he had acquired from the Puppet Secret Realm.

Its material was not only exceptionally durable but also extraordinarily sharp.

Moreover, it contained a multitude of high-level martial arts techniques.

Among these were the Nirvana Sword Art and the Indestructible Puppet Spell.

The fourth move of the Nirvana Sword Art, Extermination, reached Emperor Level High-grade, and the fifth move, Silent, even ascended to Emperor Level High-grade.

Additionally, the Indestructible Puppet Spell was an advanced form of the Secret Art of Flesh Puppet Refinement.

Despite its incomplete state, it still possessed methods for refining Emperor Level and Emperor Level Indestructible Puppets.

Using this knowledge, Lin Xuan had transformed Wu Juechen into an Emperor Level Indestructible Puppet, known as the Martial Puppet.

The capabilities of the Terminator Sword might well surpass his expectations.

Lin Xuan had never abandoned the pursuit of mastering the Terminator Sword.

He even speculated that it wasn't an artifact of the Tianyuan Continent but possibly originated from a superior realm.

The sword's composition and the martial arts it encompassed hinted at its extraordinary nature.

Now, Lin Xuan had retrieved it once more, eager to explore its potential.

Although he was in possession of two Emperor Weapons, the Heavenly Cloud Break Bow and the Meteorite Arrow, they proved to be somewhat cumbersome to wield and came with significant limitations.
