C1507 Report

2"Elder Wei, Elder Cang, please join us," the Martial Puppet invited once more.

These five individuals, having attained the pinnacle of Emperor Level, were among the most esteemed on the Dongyuan Continent. Lin Xuan had personally selected them, and they were no longer associated with any specific hall. Instead, they were integrated into the overarching Hall of Elders, and new hall masters were appointed for each division.

Yet, their ties were not entirely severed. Ultimately, Lin Xuan couldn't remain indefinitely to maintain order. As a result, the Tianyuan Palace was still in its infancy, not yet a unified sect in the truest sense. The actual governance would revert to the five great halls upon Lin Xuan's departure.

Lin Xuan's unification of the halls was primarily to establish basic rules, such as prohibiting conflicts and major battles between them. This strengthened their bonds, eliminating previous divisions and biases, and fostering open communication.

However, it was a daunting task for the five great halls to wholeheartedly align with the Tianyuan Palace and see themselves as part of a single entity. Even with Lin Xuan's direct oversight, such unity couldn't be achieved overnight. It would require several generations and perhaps centuries of gradual integration.

Take, for instance, the six major powers. Aside from the Devil Cloud Sect, which branched out from the Central Essence Continent, the others like the East Saint Sect, the Elemental Spirit Sect, and the Canglan Sect didn't start as leading forces. They rose through cycles of downfall and resurgence, sometimes by overtaking or merging with other sects. Over decades and centuries, through the efforts of successive generations, the absorbed sects' members eventually shed their original allegiances and fully embraced their new identities.

Most successful forces have grown by assimilating others, using them as a kind of sustenance. Lin Xuan was well aware of this dynamic. However, he chose not to follow that path, nor did he intend to. He never aspired to invest significant effort into founding a power structure.

Lin Xuan had established a power base primarily to safeguard his family and close friends, as well as to amass resources for himself. As the Son of the Sky Origin Temple, he was also committed to restoring the former splendor and status of the temple. However, he believed that enhancing his own strength was more critical than expending all his efforts on building a force. After all, in this world, strength reigned supreme, and a force was merely a structure built upon that power.

Consequently, Lin Xuan didn't pour excessive energy into the newly formed Tianyuan Palace. He did elevate peak Emperor Level experts like Wei Zhengzhen, Cang Shuiyue, and Yang Mao from their original sects to become hall masters of the Elders' Hall, which outranked all other halls. Yet, he maintained their connections to their respective halls. Moreover, Lin Xuan didn't personally appoint the new hall masters; he delegated that responsibility to the elders themselves. These appointments required not only a high level of cultivation and the ability to maintain order but also loyalty and strong relationships to ensure they would follow directives.

In essence, the various halls remained under the elders' control and had not broken away. It's possible that in a few generations, the power dynamics might shift away from the elders' trusted aides. Or perhaps the elders would recognize the superior benefits and status of the Elders' Hall and lose interest in micromanaging the halls, leading to a true separation.

Lin Xuan, however, was not interested in spending an excessive amount of time on these matters. He figured that once his power grew and he had more followers, he could entrust the management of Tianyuan Palace to the veterans from the Tianyuan Secret Realm. His role would be to oversee the overall direction, leaving the minutiae to his subordinates. Otherwise, even the strongest individual would be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of tasks.

Understanding how to delegate power is crucial.

In a world where might is paramount, the key is having enough strength to quell any issues among one's subordinates.

As it stands, the true leaders of the five great halls are a handful of elders.

Their cultivation and prestige are at the pinnacle of the Emperor Level, far surpassing the relatively new Hall Masters.

The tasks Lin Xuan assigned are, of course, the elders' responsibility.

They are also the ones who must handle the reporting once the missions are complete.

The others, including the five Hall Masters, simply don't make the cut.

It was the Martial Puppet who decided to bring them along.

"Yes, Elder Wu," Wei Zhengzhen, Cang Shuiyue, and Yang Mao responded promptly.

They were careful not to cross the highly favored individual at Lin Xuan's side.

Indeed, they were the ones who needed to report on this matter.

Both Wei Zhengzhen and the Elemental Spirit hoped that Lin Xuan would not delve too deeply into their misdeeds.

They had even attempted to bribe the Martial Puppet, hoping for his complicity in concealing their actions.

However, the Martial Puppet remained steadfastly loyal and disregarded any personal gain.

Without a doubt, Lin Xuan would hear of this, and they could only hope he would not seek further inquiry or impose severe punishment.

Meanwhile, Cang Shuiyue looked on with anticipation.

Under Lin Xuan's guidance, the five great forces were uniting to form the Tianyuan Palace.

With Lin Xuan's eminent status, he kept the five great halls in check.

Unless there was concrete evidence of Lin Xuan's demise, the other four halls wouldn't dare to hassle the Canglan Hall as they had before.

The Canglan Hall now enjoyed an unprecedented sense of security, a stark contrast to its former vulnerability.

Moreover, Lin Xuan had even enhanced the sect's protective array during his visit.

The Canglan Hall was more than content with joining the Tianyuan Palace, relishing its newfound parity with the other forces.

Lin Xuan himself had little connection to the five great forces and few close associates among them.

He could be fair and just, clearly delineating rewards and punishments.

Among the five great halls, the other four exhibited varying degrees of corruption, yet Canglan Hall was the sole survivor.

In comparison, it stood out even more.

She wondered what kind of reward she would receive.

She was filled with anticipation.

Afterward, the other Emperor Level Martial Cultivators in the great hall dispersed as well.

However, they did not leave the Elemental Spirit Hall.

Instead, Elemental Spirit disciples escorted them to a different hall, where they were well taken care of.

But they were temporarily not permitted to leave.

This was so Lin Xuan could summon them at any moment.

They could only depart when the elders issued an order, allowing the hall masters to lead the Emperor Level Martial Cultivators back to their respective halls.

Concerning the vacancies in the great halls, there was no need for concern.

At a time when Tianyuan Palace's influence was at its zenith, no one dared to trouble the five great halls.
